Selecting the correct binding requires considering weight, ability, and the width of the ski the binding will be mounted on. First you need to consider you weight and ability to select the correct DIN range, then the correct brake width.

* These ranges are minimums to maximums. If the overall range of a binding falls within these numbers it is appropriate.
After selecting the correct DIN Range based on weight and ability, determine the brake width.
Brake Width Chart
Ski waist width | Brake Width |
>80mm | >85mm |
80-85mm | 85-95mm |
86-90mm | 90-100mm |
90-95mm | 95-105mm |
96-100mm | 100-115mm |
100-105mm | 105-120mm |
110-115mm | 110-125mm |
<115mm | 115mm+ |
*Ideally the binding width selected is as close to the waist width of the ski. However, anything less than 15mm larger than the waist width is functional. For example a 92mm waist ski is okay to have a 115mm brake but a 95mm or 100mm brake would be optimal.
